From 17 to 30 tons on one Maize field trial, that is a 65% increase in yield!
This farmer from Thabazimbi made the bold move to replace two of their chemical foliar feeding strategies with 100% Organic GuanoBoost and applied it along with their usual mixed fertiliser strategy.
They have approximately 105 000 yellow Pioneer maize plants per hectare, which are mainly one-headed plants. 25L GuanoBoost application was applied when the maize plants reached 5 leaves, and another 25L of GuanoBoost was applied on 10 leaves by recommendation of our technical agent, Riaan Botha. These maize heads have 18 rows with an average of 36 kernels which gives 648 corn kernels per head.
The farmer is extremely excited about this season’s results. The previous season’s return was an average of 17.3 tons per hectare. We are still waiting for the final results, but these are the current tons per hectare as shown on the harvester’s monitor. The 30.798 tons per ha was for one specific field. The rest of the fields are currently averaging 22-30 tons per hectare – a great harvest is expected on these maize trials with GuanoBoost.
